OLD SCHOOL

Old School rap is the fist rap music that was commercialised, it is argued that it might have ended in 1984 due to changes in rapping techniques but some people say that old school rap ended in the 90's close to the 2000's because they were new rappers rising to fame with their own techniques .
              Old school rap in the 80's was made of rappers like Young MC, MC light, Rakim, Run DMC, Afrika Bambaataa including many others, in the 90's there was Snoop Dogg, Lauryn Hill,Ice Cube, Jay-z, Nas, Tupac(the great) and the NWA the list goes on.
               In old school hip hop(rap) the rappers that makes people say that its better than new school
are for example Nas in his songs like "one mic" in which he talked about things going on in the hood violence, the police etc this is one song to listen to lyrically strong with a message behind it and it is a song that is about stuff that we see in our everyday life, NWA in their song fuck the police in which they were talking about police brutality in the hood how the police was mistreating african americans
though the police said that NWA's song was not to be played anywhere it's because they knew that it was based on the truth, another example of how good the old school songs were is Dear Mama by Tupac which is a song about his mom and how his mom suffered raising him up which is a song that most black people who didn't grow up in rich families can relate to.
             
     
Im an old school fan because oldschool rap wasn't only drugs and sex like waht we have today it was also about things that are in eveyday's people's lives it was not about showing sports cars or about exipensive mansions it was about rappers going back in the hood checking up on things and letting the world know whta's up.

 Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. also known as Snoop Dogg  born in October 20th 1971in Longbeach California  is one of the best and most popular rappers of all time he is not only a rapper but also an actor his career started in 1992 when he was discovered by Dr Dre who helped get in the hip hop industry. He featured on Dr. Dre's album first solo album called the Chronics which sold 5.7 millions in USA alone it was a triple platinum album.
     In 1993 Snoop Dogg realesd his debut album titled Doggystyle in 2008 RIAA(Recording Industry Association of America) certified this album with a quadruple platinum in sales once out it sold 806,858 copies in its first week alone in USA which reiceved good critics and was named most important album of that time it was realesed.Snoop dogg in 1997 he got married to his Shante Broadus that he still is married to. They have four kids together three boys and a girl.
Snoop Dogg has a net worth of 135 millions, in 2013 he decided to convert into rastafarianism and he changed his name from Snoop Dogg to Snoop Lion and he realesed a twelth album called Reincarnated

 
Snoop dogg has beeen to win many awards like MTV movie awards, soul train, AMA, BET awards and so many others he is also a businessman who has invested in The New York Stock Exchange Market and he has his own recording studio, he has collaborated with many musicians like Katy Perry, Pharrel Williams and many others.

Most people might judge new school rappers of writing about things that makes no sense because but that's not true, yes some are making songs that does not catch old school fans' attention but again you can't judge because maybe you are getting old and you don't feel the new generation.

                But you need to know that in new school hip hop not all rappers do music the same way because now rap has many different styles because every time there is a new style born insipired or influenced by sometimes the area they live in or their everyday life a good example is the latest now popular style of rap called drill music that is also called a subgenre of trap which is also another genre in rap that originates from chicago young rappers. Drill became popular in 2012 with rappers like Chief Keef, Lil Durk, Fredo Santana and Lil Reese because the internet fell in love with their music. This type of music has dark and violent lyrics which has something to do with the mainly with the gangs of Chicago in Chiraq. 

 Rappers have always been story tellers and i think that it is what new school rappers are still good at because they are rapping about the life they are living, violence, drugs, police brutality gangs and other stuff they have to go through in their lives everyday.

             

There have alays been beef between rappers but the way rappers used to beef is different from the way its done now.
In 1991 to 1997 hiphop had its biggest beef in history, this beef was different from the ones we normally see because it was not one guy versus the other this time it was the west versus the east coast.
Both sides had talented rappers but each side claimed to be the best. Now we do have rappers beefing like Drake vs Meek mill but their beef is not intresting.
Normally when rappers beef they wright songs about each other and who ever realeses the best songs wins like the beef between Jay z and Nas they realesed songs dissing each and the lirycs level was way above what we see today.

 He is considered to be among the best rappers who ever lived or maybe the best now. He is the third rapper with the most Grammy Awards curently having thirteen with many other awards including a Golden Globe. He has a total of 244 different awards. 
Eminem started making music in the early 1999 and in 2000 his album became the fastest selling hiphop album in history. He has worked with many artists like Jay z, Rihanna, Dr Dre, 50 Cent

   Eminem is not just a rapper but also an actor, he has in movies like 8 mile which is his  semi-autobiographical film, he had a role in The Interview and he was supposed to be the leading actor in Southpaw but he later rejected the role in order  to focus on his album Recovery.           
   He has a networth of 255 millions and 92 million followers on facebook its clear that he was born for this.

If you are a raper, a arp or hiphopfan you ave to know who tupac is. He is considered to be one of the best raper who ever existed he was  born  16th june 1917 in New York in East Harlem  in Manhattan district most of his songs were about the violence that he went through during his childhood and the life of poverty in the ghettos, racism, crimes, and problems that the society faced and the conflicts between him and other rappers. He started as a dancer for a dance crew called alternative hiphop. Though he was from the east coast he was on west coast side in groups like the outlawz, Digital Underground and Thug life.

Why did i choose rap(HIP HOP) when i had alot of other many subjects to talk about?
From the 90's rap has changed so much from rappers like Tupac to rappers like Lil wayne who makes nosense.

Rappers favorite topics nowdays its money, drugs and sex. In the 90s rap was mainly about real life things the society was going through everyday in other words rappers back then were good story tellers but unfortunately they all retired even the ones still in rap they are getting no support like they used to.
Rappers used to rap about stuff that people were going through in their everyday lives most were black so it was easy to get stuff to write about like racism police brutality or how black people or other minorities were not treated like white people. unlike today where the rappers make songs about how many cars they own girls they had sex with or how much money they have in their bank accounts.

To me the 90s rappers were like the voice of the voiceless but now its like they gave up. Oldschool rocks new school sucks.
